(a) Ja'far bin Amr bin Umayyah al-Damri narrates from his father, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cutting a (roasted) goat's shoulder; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate from it. Then, when the iqamah for the prayer was called, he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and threw the knife down, then led the prayer but did not perform ablution.
(b) Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas narrates the same from his father, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
(c) It is narrated from Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ate a (roasted) goat's shoulder, then prayed but did not perform ablution.
(d) It is narrated from Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I bear witness that I roasted a goat's belly for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and prayed but did not perform ablution.
