Bayhaqi 6987 — Reports on ending the funeral prayer with a single
قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا نُعَيْمٌ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يُسَلِّمُ عَلَى الْجِنَازَةِ تَسْلِيمَةً " وَرُوِّينَاهُ أَيْضًا عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، وَأَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ وَغَيْرِهِمْ.
Khalid bin Yazid bin Abi Malik narrates from his father, who said: I saw Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him); he would give a single salam in the funeral prayer.
