أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَاتَ الْيَوْمَ عَبْدٌ صَالِحٌ أَصْحَمَةُ، فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ، فَقَامَ فَأَمَّنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانِ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Today a righteous servant, Ashamah, has died, who was a most excellent man; so stand up and pray the funeral prayer over him." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and led us, and we prayed the funeral prayer over him.
