Bayhaqi 6586 — The virtue of visiting the sick

وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْفَاكِهِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي مَسَرَّةَ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِهِ. وَزَادَ: قَالَ: قَالَ لِيَ ابْنُ أَبِي مَسَرَّةَ، ثُمَّ وَقَفَهُ الْمُقْرِئُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ الْجُدِّيَّ يَقِفُهُ، وَهُوَ أَحْفَظُ مِنِّي.
Likewise (through another chain).
He added: Ibn Abi Masarrah said to me: After that, al-Muqri' narrated it as mawquf (stopping) on Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and did not mention the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: It has reached me that Abd al-Malik al-Juddi narrates it as mawquf, and he has a better memory than I do.
