Bayhaqi 6549 — Every Muslim should hold fast to patience in all
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمُزَكِّي قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ هُوَ الْأَصَمُّ ثنا بَحْرٌ هُوَ ابْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ أَنَّ سَعِيدًا الْمَقْبُرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: " أَبْتَلِي عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِنَ، فَإِذَا لَمْ يَشْكُ إِلَى عُوَّادِهِ ذَلِكَ حَلَلْتُ عَنْهُ عُقَدِي، وَأَبْدَلْتُهُ دَمًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَمِهِ، وَلَحْمًا خَيْرًا مِنْ لَحْمِهِ، ثُمَّ قُلْتُ لَهُ: ايتَنِفِ الْعَمَلَ؟ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah Almighty says: "I test My believing servant, and when he does not complain of that to those who visit him, I untie My knot from him and replace his blood with better blood and his flesh with better flesh. Then I say to him: 'Now begin your deeds afresh.'"
