(a) Urwah narrates from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the eclipse prayer with four bowings and four prostrations. In the first rak'ah he recited Surah al-Ankabut, and in the second rak'ah Surah Luqman or Surah al-Rum.
(b) Hanash narrates from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he recited aloud in the lunar or solar eclipse prayer.
(c) Muhammad bin Isma'il al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In my view, the hadith of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited aloud in the eclipse prayer is the sound one; the hadith of Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited quietly and inaudibly.
