Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the sun was eclipsed in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and said the takbir, and the people also said the takbir. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Qur'an aloud and recited at length.
