Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: The sun was eclipsed in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and people said that the eclipse was because of the death of Ibrahim. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sun and the moon do not lose their light for anyone's death or life; rather, they are two of the signs of Allah. When you see them (eclipsed), pray."
