Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Whoever spends the two nights of Eid in worship for the sake of Allah, seeking reward, his heart will not die when hearts die.
Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) says: It has reached us that it used to be said: Supplication is answered on five nights: the night of Jumu'ah, the night of Eid al-Adha, the night of Eid al-Fitr, the first night of Rajab, and the night of the middle of Sha'ban. He said: And it has reached us that Ibn Umar used to spend the night of Jam' in worship, and the night of Jam' is the night of Eid, because the sacrifice takes place on its morning.
