Bayhaqi 6290 — When Eid falls on a Friday

Umar bin Abd al-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) says: In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) two Eids coincided, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever of the people of al-Aliyah wishes to stay away from the Jumu'ah, let him stay away; there is no blame."
This has been narrated with a sahih (authentic) chain from Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), restricted to the people of al-Aliyah, as his own statement (mawquf).
