Bayhaqi 6232 — The follower prays voluntary prayers

Ayyub says: I saw Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) come on the day of Eid and pray before the imam came out.
Abbas bin Sahl says that he saw the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) praying two rak'ahs each in the mosque on the day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and then they would not return to it (would not pray it again).
Isa bin Sahl narrates from his grandfather in marfu' form: "He would seat his sons in the mosque until the sun had risen, then he would pray two rak'ahs, then go to the place of Eid prayer."
Ibn Abi Dhi'b says: I asked Isa bin Sahl whether they also used to pray it again. He said: I do not know.
