Sa'id bin Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! At which hour of the day and night would you forbid me to pray?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you have prayed the Fajr prayer, refrain from prayer until the sun has risen high, for it rises between the two horns of Satan. Then the angels attend the prayer, and it is accepted until midday. When it is midday, refrain from prayer until the sun declines, for at that time Hell is stoked, since the intensity of the heat is from the blast of Hell. Then, when the sun has declined, it is a prayer that the angels attend and it is accepted until you pray the Asr prayer. After the Asr prayer, refrain from prayer until the sun sets; then it is a prayer that the angels attend and it is accepted as well, until you pray the Fajr prayer."
