أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا ابْنُ مِلْحَانَ، ثنا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ مَوْلَى عُفْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنَ أَبِي مَالِكٍ يُخْبِرُ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ تَكُونُ لَهُ الْغَنِيمَةُ فِي حَاشِيَةِ الْقَرْيَةِ يَكُونُ فِيهَا وَيَشْهَدُ الصَّلَاةَ، فَإِذَا تَعَذَّرَتْ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ: لَوْ أَنِّي ارْتَفَعْتُ إِلَى رَدْهَةٍ هِيَ أَعْفَى مِنْهَا كَلَاءً فَيَرْتَفِعُ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى لَا يَأْتِيَ الْمَسْجِدَ إِلَّا كُلَّ جُمُعَةٍ، حَتَّى إِذَا تَعَذَّرَتْ وَأَكَلَ مَا حَوْلَهَا قَالَ: لَوِ ارْتَفَعَتُ إِلَى رَدْهَةٍ هِيَ أَعْفَى مِنْهَا كَلَاءً، فَيَرْتَفِعُ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى لَا يَأْتِيَ الْجُمُعَةَ، وَلَا يَدْرِي مَا يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ؟ حَتَّى يَطْبَعَ اللهُ عَلَى قَلْبِهِ ". وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ.
Sayyiduna Harithah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man had a flock of sheep outside the village, and he used to attend the prayer. When the flock faced difficulty, he thought: I will take my flock to where there is more pasture. He took the flock there, and then he would not come to the mosque except on Friday. When that too became difficult and the animals had eaten the grass around them, he took them to a place with more pasture. Then he would not come even to the Friday prayer; rather he would not even know which day was Friday, until Allah sealed his heart."
