(a) Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes a bath (ghusl) on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, applies oil from his house or perfume, then goes to the Friday prayer, prays whatever was decreed for him, and when the imam comes out listens attentively to the sermon and remains silent, his sins between that and the next Friday will be forgiven."
(b) Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any servant who takes a bath on Friday, then applies oil or perfume, then comes to the mosque and does not separate two people, and remains silent during the sermon, his sins until the next Friday will be forgiven."
(c) The wording of the hadith of Shababah (may Allah have mercy on him) is: "He should purify himself as much as he can."
