Bayhaqi 5880 — The virtue of walking to the prayer rather than riding

Abu al-Ahwas narrates from Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): Walk to the prayer, for those who were better than you, namely Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and the Ansar and the Muhajirun (may Allah be pleased with them), used to walk to the prayer. Keep your steps close together and remember Allah much, and let your companion be the one who helps you in the remembrance of Allah.
