Bayhaqi 5673 — The time of Friday prayer

Ja'far bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (may Allah have mercy on him), who narrates from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): "We used to pray the Friday prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then return and give rest to our water-drawing camels." Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I said to Ja'far bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him): "What time was that?" He said: "When the sun passed its zenith." This view is reported from Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Ali, Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal, Sayyiduna al-Nu'man bin Bashir and Sayyiduna Amr bin Hurayth (may Allah be pleased with them) (I mean, concerning the time of the Friday prayer being when the sun has passed its zenith).
