Bayhaqi 5283 — The length of the recitation of the Prophet ﷺ

وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا عَفَّانُ، ثنا سُكَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، حَدَّثَنِي الْمُثَنَّى الْأَحْمَرُ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَنَسًا عَنْ مِقْدَارِ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: فَأَمَرَ النَّضْرَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ أَوْ أَحَدَ بَنِيهِ فَصَلَّى بِنَا الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ، فَقَرَأَ بِنَا وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ، وَعَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ ".
Abd al-Aziz bin Qays says: I asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) about the length of the recitation in the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered al-Nadr bin Anas or one of his sons to lead us in the Zuhr or Asr prayer, and he recited 'By those sent forth' [Surah al-Mursalat: 1] and 'About what are they asking one another?' [Surah al-Naba': 1].
