أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أنبأ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، ح وَأنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أنبأ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُنَا بِالتَّخْفِيفِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ لَيَؤُمُّنَا بِالصَّافَّاتِ ".
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command us to keep it brief, and yet he would lead us in prayer reciting Surah al-Saffat.
