قَالَ عَمْرٌو: وَعَدَّ سُوَرًا، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَقَالَ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ: وَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اقْرَأْ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى، وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ، وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ، وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا، وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى، وَنَحْوِهَا "، فَقُلْتُ لِعَمْرٍو: فَإِنَّ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ كَانَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ قَالَ لَهُ: " اقْرَأْ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى، وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ، وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ، وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا، وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى "، فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو: هِيَ هَذِهِ أَوْ نَحْوُ هَذِهِ. أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، فَذَكَرَهُ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ زِيَادَةَ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ. وَبِهَذَا الْمَعْنَى رَوَاهُ جَمَاعَةٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ،.
Amr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that he listed some surahs. Abu al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Recite: 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High' [Surah al-A'la: 1], 'By the sky and the night-comer' [Surah al-Tariq: 1], 'By the sky containing great stars' [Surah al-Buruj: 1], 'By the sun and its brightness' [Surah al-Shams: 1], 'By the night when it covers' [Surah al-Layl: 1] and the like of them." Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I said to Amr (may Allah have mercy on him): Abu al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Recite: 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High' [Surah al-A'la: 1], 'By the sky and the night-comer' [Surah al-Tariq: 1], 'By the sky containing great stars' [Surah al-Buruj: 1], 'By the sun and its brightness' [Surah al-Shams: 1], 'By the night when it covers' [Surah al-Layl: 1]." Amr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "It was these, or others like them."
