وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، أنبأ هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ قَالَ: ذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِابْنِ سِيرِينَ، يَعْنِي مَا فَعَلَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ: كَانَ الْمَسْجِدُ ضَيِّقًا.
Hisham bin Hassan (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I mentioned (this) before Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) did that because the mosque was narrow.
