Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. We reached a watering place, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Jabir, will you not drink?" I said: Of course. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and I drank. He says: He (peace and blessings be upon him) went off to relieve himself, and I put out water for ablution for him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and prayed in a single garment whose two ends he had crossed over, and I stood behind him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) took me by my ear and placed me on his right side.
