Sayyiduna Itban bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "My eyesight has failed, and the (rain) flood comes and becomes an obstacle between me and the mosque. May Allah have mercy on you (peace and blessings be upon him); if you (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to my house and pray in a place, I will then pray in that place." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will do so." The next day at midday the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked permission and I granted it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) did not sit, but rather he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where would you like me to pray in your house?" I pointed to the place where I wished him (peace and blessings be upon him) to pray. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said 'Allahu akbar', and we too formed rows behind him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in two rak'ahs.
