أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا مَتَى تُوتِرِينَ؟ قَالَتْ: " بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ " وَمَا يُؤَذِّنُونَ حَتَّى يُصْبِحُوا " قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا يُؤَذِّنُونَ حَتَّى يُصْبِحُوا أَظُنُّهُ مِنْ قَوْلِ الْأَسْوَدِ، أَوْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، وَفِيهِ نَظَرٌ، فَقَدْ رُوِّينَا أَنَّ الْآذَانَ الْأَوَّلَ بِالْحِجَازِ كَانَ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ، وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا تُصَلِّي قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ، أَوْ أَرَادَ بِهِ الْأَذَانَ الثَّانِي، وَعَلَى ذَلِكَ تَدُلُّ رِوَايَةُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبَى إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا تُوتِرُ فِيمَا بَيْنَ التَّثْوِيبِ، وَالْإِقَامَةِ، فَيَرْجِعُ مَذْهَبُهَا فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى مَا رُوِّينَا عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا.
Al-Aswad said: I asked Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): When do you pray witr? She said: Between the adhan and the iqamah. And the mu'adhdhins would not call the adhan until they reached the morning. The narrator said: I think this statement is from al-Aswad or Abu Ishaq, and there is reservation about it.
(b) The first adhan in the Hijaz was before the rising of dawn, and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to pray before the rising of dawn; or he meant the second adhan by it.
(c) Abu Ishaq said that Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to pray witr between the adhan and the iqamah.
(Note) So her position on this matter goes back to what is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both).
