أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَاكِرٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَابِقٍ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُمْ، سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ، فَقَالَ: " الْوِتْرُ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ " أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ.
Abu Nadrah (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) informed him that they asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about witr, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The time of witr is before the morning prayer."
