Sayyiduna Rifa'ah bin Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), narrating this story, said that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you stand for prayer, face the qiblah and say the takbir, then recite Umm al-Qur'an (al-Fatihah) and whatever Allah wills. When you bow, place your palms on your knees and stretch your back out straight; when you prostrate, prostrate properly; and when you raise your head from prostration, sit on your left thigh."
