أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا جَابِرٌ، ثنا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُبَيْلٍ الْأَحْمَسِيُّ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا قَامَ الْإِمَامُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَإِنْ ذَكَرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَسْتَتِمَّ قَائِمًا فَلْيَجْلِسْ وَإِنِ اسْتَتَمَّ قَائِمًا فَلَا يَجْلِسْ وَيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ ".
Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the imam stands up after two rak'ahs (forgetfully, without reciting the tashahhud), then if he remembers before he has stood fully upright, let him sit down; and if he has stood fully upright, let him not sit, and let him perform the two prostrations of forgetfulness."
