Amr bin Yahya bin Umarah bin Abi al-Hasan narrates from his father: I heard Amr bin Abi al-Hasan asking Abdullah bin Zayd bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) about the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He called for a vessel of water and showed the people the method of the ablution of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He poured water from the vessel onto his hand three times, then put his hand into the vessel, then rinsed his mouth, drew water into his nose and blew it out, doing all of this with three scoops. Then he put his hand (into the vessel) and washed his face three times. Then he put his hands (into the vessel) and washed his arms twice, including the elbows. Then he put his hands (into the vessel) and wiped his head, moving (his hands) once from front to back and back to front. Then he washed his feet up to the ankles.
