(a) Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Two men who are better than me narrated to me, one of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him); (the narrator) said: "I do not remember which of them told me." One of them prostrated in Surah al-Inshiqaq and Surah al-Alaq.
(b) When Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) recited Surah al-Najm with the people he would prostrate, and also when he recited it in the prayer (he would prostrate). When Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) joined some other part of the Qur'an to it, he would prostrate, and if he did not join any other part to it, he would bow.
(c) When Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) recited it, he would prostrate, then rise from the prostration and recite Surah al-Tin or a surah similar to it.
(d) He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also prostrated with it; and in the hadith of al-Birti it is: "if not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)."
