(a) It is narrated from Abu al-Duha (may Allah have mercy on him) that Abd al-Malik (may Allah have mercy on him), or someone else, sent physicians to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) on the post-mounts, when water had descended into his eyes. The physicians said: "You will have to pray lying down for seven days." So he asked the Mother of the Believers Sayyidah Umm Salamah and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with them both) about this, and they forbade him.
(b) It is narrated from al-Musayyab bin Rafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "What do you think if death comes before that?"
