Bayhaqi 366 — Removing dye at the time of ablution (wudu)

Abu al-Aliyah, or another man, narrated that he asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about dye, and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I will tell you how our women used to apply dye. They would pray Isha, then apply the dye, then sleep. When it was time for the Fajr prayer, they would remove it, perform ablution and pray, then apply it again. When it was time for the Zuhr prayer, they would remove it with the finest dye. This did not keep them from ablution. The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also used to apply dye after the Isha prayer.
