وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حِمْشَاذٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي اللَّيْثِ ثنا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ قَالَ: رَأَى أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ امْرَأَةً بِوَجْهِهَا أَثَرٌ مِثْلُ ثَفِنَةِ الْعَنْزِ، فَقَالَ: " لَوْ لَمْ يَكُنْ هَذَا بِوَجْهِكِ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَكِ " وَرُوِّينَا عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ أَنَّهُ أَنْكَرَهُ وَقَالَ: " وَاللهُ مَا هِيَ سِيمَاءُ.
Abu Awn narrates that Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) saw on a woman's face a mark like the knee-callus of a goat and said: It would have been much better for you if this mark were not on your face.
(b) It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) that he disapproved of it and said: By Allah, this mark is not the sign (meant in the verse).
