أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَ: قِيلَ لَهَا: إِنَّ نَاسًا يَقُولُونَ: إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ يَقْطَعُهَا الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ، قَالَتْ: " أَلَا أَرَاهُمْ قَدْ عَدَلُونَا بِالْكِلَابِ وَالْحَمِيرِ وَرُبَّمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا عَلَى السَّرِيرِ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَيَكُونُ لِي حَاجَةٌ فَأَنْسَلُّ مِنْ قِبَلِ رِجْلَيِ السَّرِيرِ؛ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ أَسْتَقْبِلَهُ بِوَجْهِي.
Al-Aswad (may Allah have mercy on him) relates that someone said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "People say that a dog, a donkey and a woman (by passing in front) break the prayer." She said: "These people have made us equal to dogs and donkeys! Many times I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying at night while I lay on the bed between him and the qiblah. If I had some need, I would quietly slip out from the foot of the bed, disliking to turn my face towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
