وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا مِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ طَالِبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ آلِ أَبِي مُعَيْطٍ فَمَنَعَهُ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَنْتَهِيَ فَنَبَذَهُ فَأَبَى فَدَفَعَ فِي صَدْرِهِ وَمَرْوَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَشَكَا ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ مَرْوَانُ لِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَحَدِكُمْ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَلْيَمْنَعْهُ فَإِنْ أَبِي فَلْيُقَاتِلْهُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ " وَإِنِّي قَدْ كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُهُ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَنْتَهِيَ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ عَلَى لَفْظِ حَدِيثِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ مَضْمُومًا إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْإِسْنَادِ وَذَلِكَ مِنْهُ تَجَوُّزٌ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ، رَحِمَهُ اللهُ، أَفْرَدَهُ بِالذِّكْرِ عَلَى لَفْظِهِ فِي كِتَابِ بَدْءِ الْخَلْقِ.
It is narrated from Abu Salih that Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) was praying when a man from the family of Abu Mu'ayt began to pass in front of him, so he stopped him. He refused to stop, so Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) pushed him; he still refused, so he struck him on the chest. In those days Marwan was the governor of Madinah. That man complained about him to Marwan, and Marwan mentioned the matter to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you is praying and someone passes in front of him, let him stop him. If he refuses, let him fight him, for he is a devil." And I was stopping him, and he refused to stop.
