أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، ثنا الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مِفْتَاحُ الصَّلَاةِ الطُّهُورُ وَإِحْرَامُهَا التَّكْبِيرُ وَإِحْلَالُهَا التَّسْلِيمُ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The key to the prayer is purification, what makes (worldly acts) forbidden in it is the takbir, and what makes them permissible again is the taslim (salam)."
