أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، وَأَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَا: أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْقَاضِي، أنبأ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ صَقْرِ بْنِ نَصْرِ بْنِ مُوسَى السُّكَّرِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ فِي سُوَيْقَةِ غَالِبٍ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فِي قِصَّةِ الْقُرَّاءِ وَقَتْلِهِمْ قَالَ: فَقَالَ لِي أَنَسٌ: لَقَدْ " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلَّمَا صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ يَدْعُو عَلَيْهِمْ، يَعْنِي عَلَى الَّذِينَ قَتَلُوهُمْ ".
It is reported from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) about the reciters and their tragic martyrdom; the narrator said: Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), whenever he offered the morning prayer, raising his hands and supplicating against them (the disbelieving tribes), meaning those who had martyred the reciter Companions (may Allah be pleased with them).
