أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ فُقَرَاءَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ أَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا: ذَهَبَ أَهْلُ الدُّثُورِ وَالْأَمْوَالِ بِالدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى وَالنَّعِيمِ الْمُقِيمِ، فَقَالَ: " وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ " قَالُوا: يُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي، وَيَصُومُونَ كَمَا نَصُومُ، وَيَتَصَدَّقُونَ وَلَا نَتَصَدَّقُ، وَيُعْتِقُونَ وَلَا نُعْتِقُ قَالَ: " أَفَلَا أُعَلِّمُكُمْ شَيْئًا تُدْرِكُونَ بِهِ مَنْ سَبَقَكُمْ وَتَسْبِقُونَ بِهِ مَنْ ⦗٢٦٦⦘ بَعْدَكُمْ وَلَا يَكُونُ أَحَدٌ أَفْضَلَ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعْتُمْ " قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: " تُسَبِّحُونَ اللهَ وَتُكَبِّرُونَ وَتَحْمَدُونَ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ " قَالَ سُمَيٌّ: فَحَدَّثْتُ بَعْضَ أَهْلِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، فَقَالَ: وَهِمْتَ إِنَّمَا قَالَ: " تُسَبِّحُ اللهَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَتَحْمَدُ اللهَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَتُكَبِّرُ اللهَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ " فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى أَبِي صَالِحٍ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي وَقَالَ: تَقُولُ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ مِنْ جَمِيعِهِنَّ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ قَالَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ: ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فُقَرَاءُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا: قَدْ سَمِعَ إِخْوَانُنَا أَهْلُ الْأَمْوَالِ مَا قُلْتَ فَفَعَلُوا مِثْلَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " فَذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ " قَالَ ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ: فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ رَجَاءَ بْنَ حَيْوَةَ فَحَدَّثَنِي بِمِثْلِهِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ قُتَيْبَةَ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ سِوَى قَوْلِ سُمَيٍّ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَزَادَ غَيْرُ قُتَيْبَةَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَذَكَرَهُ وَرَوَاهُ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، وَأَدْرَجَ قَوْلَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ فِي رُجُوعِ فُقَرَاءِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ وَزَادَ: يَقُولُ سُهَيْلٌ: إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ، فَجَمِيعُ ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثُونَ، وَلِسُهَيْلٍ فِيهِ إِسْنَادٌ آخَرُ بِزِيَادَةِ مَتْنٍ وَزِيَادَةِ عَدَدٍ.
(a) Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the poor among the Muhajirun came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! The affluent and wealthy people have gone ahead with the everlasting blessings and the high ranks. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "How is that?" They said: They pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, they give charity which we cannot give, and they free slaves. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of a deed which, if you do it, you will catch up with those who have gone ahead and surpass those behind you? No one will be better than you except a person who does what you do." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah! Please do tell us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After every prayer say 'Subhan Allah' (Allah is free of all imperfection), 'Al-hamdu lillah' (All praise is for Allah) and 'Allahu akbar' (Allah is the Greatest) thirty-three times each."
(b) Sumayy (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I narrated this hadith to some of my people and they said: You have made a mistake; say 'Subhan Allah' (Allah is free of all imperfection) 33 times, 'Al-hamdu lillah' (All praise is for Allah) 33 times and 'Allahu akbar' (Allah is the Greatest) 33 times. I went to Abu Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) and mentioned this to him, and he took hold of my hand and said: 'Subhan Allah', 'Al-hamdu lillah', 'Allahu akbar', until they reach the count of 33.
Abu Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the poor among the Muhajirun then came (some time later) to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Our wealthy brothers have also heard this litany that you taught us, and they too are now doing it. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills [Surah al-Jumu'ah: 4]."
(c) Suhayl (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated this hadith with his chain from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). In it there is also the inserted (mudraj) statement of Abu Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) about the second coming of the poor Muhajirun, as well as an addition. Suhayl (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Recite each one eleven times, and that will make 33.
