وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رُسْتَهْ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ إبْرَاهِيْمَ، ثنا عَاصِمُ ابْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَعَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا " يَأْمُرَانِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَفِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ " وَكَانتْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا تَقْرَأُ فِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ، وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ جِمَاعَةٍ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ.
Abu Salih Dhakwan narrates from both Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the two of them used to order the recitation of Surah al-Fatihah and some portion of the Qur'an behind the imam in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr, and Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to recite only Surah al-Fatihah in the last two rak'ahs.
