باب: هل يصلى على غير النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وقول الله عز وجل وصل عليهم إن صلاتك سكن لهم
Chapter: May blessings be sent on anyone other than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the saying of Allah: "And pray for them; indeed your prayer is a comfort for them"

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً قَالَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: صَلِّ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى زَوْجِي، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى الله عَلَيْكِ وَعَلَى زَوْجِكِ ".
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that a woman said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Pray for blessings for me and for my husband. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Sallallahu 'alayki wa 'ala zawjik' (May Allah send His mercy upon you and upon your husband).
