Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood for the prayer. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said the takbir and raised his hands level with his ears, then took hold of his left hand with his right. Then, when he wanted to bow, he raised both hands, and when he raised his head from bowing, he raised both hands. Then, when he prostrated, he placed both hands on the ground and prostrated between them. Then he sat and placed his left hand on his left thigh and his right elbow on his right thigh. Then he folded the khinsar (little finger) and the binsar (the finger next to it), made a ring with the wusta (middle finger) and the ibham (thumb), and pointed with the sabbabah (index finger).
(A group narrated a narration with the same meaning from Asim bin Kulayb.)
