Sulayman al-A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I saw Umarah bin Umayr (may Allah have mercy on him) praying near the gates of Kindah. He bowed, then prostrated, and when he rose from the second prostration he stood straight up just as he was. When he finished with the salam, I mentioned the sitting for rest to him, and he said: Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) told me that he saw Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); in prayer he would rise straight up on his feet.
Al-A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I narrated this hadith to Ibrahim al-Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) also narrated to me that he saw Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) doing this. Then I narrated this hadith to Khaythamah bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: I saw Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both); he would stand on his toes. Then I mentioned this to Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Thaqafi (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: I saw Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Layla (may Allah have mercy on him); he too would stand on his toes. Then I mentioned this to Atiyyah al-Awfi (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: I saw Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), Ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him). All of them, in prayer, would rise (from the second prostration) straight up on their toes.
