Bayhaqi 2567 — Prohibition of reciting the Quran in bowing

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted the curtain (during his final illness) while the people were standing in rows behind Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Nothing remains of the glad tidings of prophethood except good dreams, which a Muslim sees or which are shown to him. Beware! I have been forbidden to recite the Qur'an while bowing or prostrating. So in bowing, proclaim the greatness of Allah, and in prostration supplicate as much as you can, for in that state supplications are answered quickly."
