أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ قَزَعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: " لَقَدْ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ الظُّهْرِ تُقَامُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ فَيَقْضِي حَاجَتَهُ، ثُمَّ يَتَوَضَّأُ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِمَّا يُطَوِّلُهَا " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ رُشَيْدٍ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Zuhr prayer was started for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a person would go to al-Baqi', relieve himself and come back, then perform ablution and come, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would still be in the first rak'ah, which he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lengthen somewhat.
