حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ إِمْلَاءً أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ شُتَيْرِ بْنِ شَكَلٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ: لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْأَحْزَابِ صَلَّيْنَا الْعَصْرَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا " أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ.
It is narrated from Shutayr bin Shakal al-Absi: I heard Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) say: On the day of the Battle of the Confederates (al-Ahzab), we offered the Asr prayer between Maghrib and Isha, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These polytheists kept us busy from the middle prayer, that is, the Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and their bellies with fire."
