Abu al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated that he heard Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) say that a man made his slave a mudabbar although he had no other wealth, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who will buy him from me?" Sayyiduna Nu'aym al-Nahham (may Allah be pleased with him) bought him. Amr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I heard Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) say that this Coptic slave died the previous year, during the governorship of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both). Abu al-Zubayr added: He was called Ya'qub.
