أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، أنبأ أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ نُجَيْدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ نَصْرَانِيًّا، فَتُوُفِّيَ، فَقَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ: فَأَمَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ أَنْ آخُذَ مِيرَاثَهُ، فَأَجْعَلَهُ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَالِ..
Isma'il bin Abi Hakim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Umar bin Abd al-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) freed a Christian slave. He died, and Isma'il (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Umar bin Abd al-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) ordered me to take his inheritance and deposit it in the public treasury (bayt al-mal).
