Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever frees a slave in which he has a share, and is able to pay the rest of the price, then the slave is free. That man shall be charged with the shares of the other partners at a fair value, because he has harmed their partnership, and nothing shall be due from the slave."
Abu Ahmad (Ibn Adi) said: The words "nothing shall be due from the slave" are narrated by no one except Abu Mu'ayd, who is Hafs bin Ghaylan, from Sulayman bin Musa.
