Bayhaqi 21189 — Reports on the testimony of one hiding to listen

قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِيهِ رَقَبَةُ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُجِيزُ شَهَادَةَ الْمُخْتَبِئِ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ بَيَانٍ.
Al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) did not accept the testimony of one who hid himself (to witness).
