أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عَامِرٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زَبْرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ بُسْرَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ وَهُوَ فِي خِبَاءٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ، فَجَلَسْتُ بِفِنَاءِ الْخِبَاءِ، فَسَلَّمْتُ فَرَدَّ، وَقَالَ: " ادْخُلْ يَا عَوْفُ "، فَقُلْتُ: أَكُلِّي أَمْ بَعْضِي؟ قَالَ: " كُلُّكَ "، فَدَخَلْتُ.
Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during the expedition of Tabuk while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was seated in a tent made of leather. I sat in the courtyard of the tent and gave the greeting of peace, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) returned the greeting and said: "O Awf, come in." I said: All of me, or part of me? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, all of you." So I went in.
