Chapter: One who slanders another with an offence carrying a hadd punishment or by denying his lineage, his testimony is rejected, and likewise one who frequently spreads tales or backbites

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْمَجَالِسُ بِالْأَمَانَةِ، إِلَّا ثَلَاثَةَ مَجَالِسَ: سَفْكُ دَمٍ حَرَامٍ، أَوْ فَرْجٍ حَرَامٍ، أَوِ اقْتِطَاعُ مَالٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ".
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Gatherings are a trust, except three kinds of gatherings, which are not a trust: 1. concerning the unlawful shedding of blood, 2. concerning fornication, 3. concerning unlawfully seizing someone's wealth."
