أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْفَرَّاءُ ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى تَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ " وَقَدْ رَوِّينَا فِيمَا مَضَى مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ وَرُوِيَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ وَاحْتَجَّ بَعْضُ مَنْ أَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My Ummah will remain upon the (sound) fitrah as long as it does not delay Maghrib until the stars come out."
We have narrated earlier the hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), and it has also been narrated as the hadith of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). Some of those who delay Maghrib have taken as evidence the (following) narration:
